Roxanne Pallett supports ITV's #1MillionMinutes campaign

05 12 2016

Actress and singer Roxanne Pallett spent 24 hours without contact from the outside world, including going without a mobile phone, to raise awareness for Good Morning Britain's 1 Million Minutes campaign.

The campaign, backed by Age UK, The Silver Line, Royal Voluntary Service and the Campaign to End Loneliness, urges viewers to pledge their time to volunteer for a lonely, elderly person this Christmas. The former Emmerdale star's experience aims to highlight the chronic loneliness felt by over 3.5 million people in the UK who 'only have the television for company', and she commented 'Just every minute felt like an hour and every hour felt like an eternity and that’s not a soap opera, that’s people’s lives'. People can volunteer their time for the campaign via www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain.
